Alphabet of Art - P
“P is for Picasso and Portrait - the behemoth of 20th Century art who influenced or created almost as many styles of art as he had mistresses. This P is a play on his disjointed style of Cubist portraiture.”
200mm x 200mm
Fine art giclée print on heavy weight Hahnemühle German Etching paper
Available for a limited time only - until midnight BST on Sunday 7th of April
Originally created for the Tate gallery shops the ‘Alphabet of Art’ is one of my favourite ever commissions. In 2019 the Tate set me the challenge of creating an alphabet of association where the design of each letter would reference and artist or art movement that it began with, so C for Cubism and P for Picasso and so on. You can read more about the project here
The original set of letters were released on a range of initial mugs. But because they arrived in the shops just before the pandemic lockdowns shut their gallery doors they never really had a chance to establish themselves.
So now I’m bringing them back each letter as a fine art giclée print for a limited time only. They were mostly first created as paintings at this exact size so this is really the most authentic way to enjoy these designs.
Prints are archival quality, and 100% carbon neutral. Produced and fulfilled by Printspace who I’ve used for my digital printing for over a decade.
Unsigned edition.
