Directorial Debut

I’ve made quite a few small films over the years, usually focusing on the physical process of creating an artwork. But in 2019 I was asked by the band Sugarcane to create a music video for their single ‘Midlands Girl’. I was intimidated by the task having never directed anyone but myself before.

But it ended up being one of the most enjoyable creative experiences I’ve ever had. Working in collaboration with cinematographer Max Brill, editor Erin Hopkins and hair and makeup artist Sophie Russell was a joy.
